Adventure biking is biking off the beaten track - by mountain bike, or trail motorbike, - depending on your temperament. The Pyrenees is western Europe's largest wilderness area, offering superb possibilities for adventure biking, even on relatively short excursions of an hour or two from our village, and on full day adventures with picnic lunch in the wild.

Your range obviously increases when you use a bike, so and if you like walking and biking there are little used hiking trails higher altitude, which you can reach in minutes.

Less than 1/3rd of the trips are on sealed roads, then we venture out on forest trails and mountain tracks, travel slowly to enjoy the dramatic scenery as we gain altitude. We try to stay away from walkers in order not to disturb; they usually use separate hiking trails, so this is not a problem.

Once well off the beaten track, the terrain and fresh mountain air invites to a good "adrenalin kick", if you are on a trail bike, - put your weight forward, give it some throttle, let the rear wheel loose and experience the feeling of freedom.

I invite you to see the photos in this section of the website, to get an idea of the superb terrain we have here. Suitable for mountain bikers and motor bikers, with mountain bikers having fewer limitations.

If you want to experience the Pyrenees on two wheels I will be glad to go along on my bike for the initial trip, to help you familiarize with the terrain - or share my local knowledge with you before you set off on your own or with friends. (note 1) Ride single for adventure, but you can comfortably travel two on a bike if you keep to the better mountain tracks. Or you can opt for touring on the small mountain tarmac roads, if you prefer. You are welcome to bring your own bike, or rent one locally (subject to availability and pre-booking). Note 1: This service is only available to guests of Village Catalan - you can book a bike at the same time as making your self-catering accommodation booking.
