MOTORBIKE ADVENTURE TOURS IN THE PYRENEES
4 days or a week of biking adventures, France and Spain beyond the tourist routes
Experience Europe's largest wilderness area off the beaten track, on two wheels, in a pleasant Mediterranean climate, in company of likeminded people. We have created and tested some of the best itineraries for you. Day-trips in the Fenouilledes and Canigou regions of the French Pyrenees, with picnic lunch in the wild, and comfortable accommodation in individual village gites at Le Village Catalan the "Paradise of the Pyrenees". The 1-week program takes another dimension, as we cross the Pyrenees into Spain on the secret, medieval smuggler routes...
4-day program:
Day 1: Transfer from Girona or Perpignan airport to Vernet-les-Bains.
Briefing and planning for the next days.
Day 2: Introduction to mountain motorbiking. Local itinerary in the foothills of Canigou, a soft start 50-100 km Partly off-road! (depending on type of bike),
Day 3: The Fenouilledes tour, low route, 160 km
Day 4: The mountain route Mount Madres tour, 155 km
Day 5: Departure, transfer to airport.
1-week program:
Day 5: The Conflent, the Vallespir and Spain, 250 km
Day 6: At leisure. Climb the Canigou (2785 m), visit the hot springs or a market town.
Day 7: Departure, transfer to airport.

Prices per person in Euros:
1 week: 1 rider € 960, 2 riders sharing room € 735, 1 rider and pillion sharing € 550
4 days: 1 rider € 730, 2 riders sharing room € 530, 1 rider and pillion sharing € 425
What is included: Motorbike hire including 200 km/day, 3rd party insurance, accommodation in 1 and 2 bedroom self catering gites in Village Catalan with utilities, tourist tax and linen included, escort rider on first tour.
Not included: Flight. Meals, we recommend 20 Euros per day towards a foot kitty for breakfast, lunches and some evening meals prepared by the group, not including optional retaurant meals. Petrol, average 10 Euros per excursion. Personal travel insurance, personal spending money.
Conditions: 25% deposit with booking, the balance 60 days before departure. Security deposit for motorbike: 1200 Euros by cheque or bank transfer.

How to get here: The nearest international airports are Perpignan and Girona (Barcelona). By road: A9 to Perpignan, N116 to Villefranche-de-Conflent, then 4 kms to Vernet-les-Bains. Detailed directions and pre-departure information will be sent to you after booking.

The adventure is a joint venture between Globetrotters Club, Fenouilledes Motos (motorbikes) and Le Village Catalan ApS (accommodation).
Globetrotters membership required. First year membership included in tour.
Globetrotters was originally founded in Farsoe, Denmark in 1973 as an ecotourism & adventure travel club, a pioneer in alternative tourism.
Also registered in France, as Destination Pyrenees in 2004 at Le Village Catalan, F-66820 Vernet-les-Bains, France with the same management.
