Mountain biking in the Pyrenees
The Pyrenees is western Europe's largest wilderness area, offering superb possibilities for adventure biking, even on relatively short excursions of an hour or two from our village, and on full day adventures with picnic lunch in the wild.1st-DSCF0166txt (40K)

We present the information on Pyrenean mountain biking off the beaten track, in the form of an adventure kit, you can download a description of each route in PDF format, with gradient chart and distances, ready to print and bring along on your trip. Topo maps with the itineraries marked are available for download (an original colour map 1:25000 is recommended for clarity). And finally a slide show, to give you an idea of what to expect.....

    Accommodation: camping, self-catering cottage, gite or hotel.
    We used Camping del Bosc for camping and Le Village Catalan for self-catering gites.
    Please refer to the Vernet les Bains tourist office listings for alternative accommodation.

    You are welcome to bring your own bike, or rent one locally (subject to availability and pre-booking).

    Note 1: This service is only available to guests of Village Catalan - you can book a bike at the same time as making your self-catering accommodation booking.
